Bride & Groom

BrideThe bride (also known as Taylor) is a 20-something Chicago native and loves all things Chicago related! She graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a B.S. in Biology hoping to pursue an education in veterinary medicine. Happily, her desire to become a veterinarian is what allowed her to meet Pat! Pat's brother introduced the happy couple, which would have never happened if Taylor did not go to undergraduate with his brother. Taylor was able to pursue and complete her professional degree in Veterinary Medicine (yes that's right, a real doctor!) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with Pat by her side! After a grueling four years, Pat and Taylor moved back to Chicago so that Taylor could pursue an extra year of education via internship in the Northern suburbs. After completing the internship, she began working for a prestigious veterinary hospital in Chicago. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking and cooking (shameless plug for her food blog here), working out, traveling, being outside (camping, fishing, riding her bicycle), and spending time with Pat, their dog Finnegan, and her family.

Groom

The groom (Pat!) is also a 20-something native of the Chicago area. He graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science (2+2=5!) from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Since that time he has worked in the IT field as a Linux/Unix System Administrator. We are very proud of him because he recently became a Lead System Administrator for a company in Chicago! He has happily supported Taylor while she pursued her education. In his free time, Pat enjoys working on computers and playing with other electronic gagets, riding his motorcycles, outdoors activities, traveling, and spending time with Taylor, Finnegan, and other family members.

About The Couple

The couple met at a bar on the North-side of Chicago in either late 2003 or early 2004 (they can't remember). After getting to know each other, they became an official couple on April 24, 2004! After almost 7 years of dating, including home ownership together, Pat FINALLY decided to ask Taylor to marry him. He proposed to her on NYE after she got home from work. She walked into a freshly cleaned house and two dozen white and red roses. In the process of taking off her coat and scarf, Pat got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. In a complete state of shock, she walked out of the room to hang up her scarf; in the process, she realized she might want to answer him! After what seemed like an eternity (to him!) she said yes!

The couple enjoys doing many activities together and since Taylor has finished her formal education, they've had much more time for doing things they enjoy, such as travel! They've traveled to many places and hope to do more in the future. Places that they've traveled to together include California, Minneapolis and Ely Minnesota, Rome, Venice, Florence, Santa Margherita (Italy), Canada, Michigan, Las Vegas!, Phoenix, St. Louis, and San Juan and Culebra Puerto Rico! There are many places they would love to visit in the future, including Ireland, France, Spain, England, South Africa, Bora Bora or any other Pacific Islands, Alaska, Egypt, Panama, Costa Rica, India, Australia, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Vietnam...well, you get the picture, they want to go EVERYWHERE!

They have an AWESOME furbaby named Finnegan, a border collie-lab retriever mix that Taylor adopted as a first year veterinary student (despite ample protests from Pat and her dad)! We are excited to get married and celebrate this momentous occasion with you, our family and friends!
